PL1333B - The United States Marine Corps’ Digital Manufacturing Data Vault: Additive Manufacturing from Factory to the FOB

The United States Marine Corps’ Digital Manufacturing Data Vault (DMDV) is an additive manufacturing repository developed in collaboration with and for the United States Marine Corps (USMC). Grounded in Windchill, and integrated with numerous CAD platforms, this solution is the USMC’s additive manufacturing digital thread and provides end-to-end product lifecycle capabilities to support day-to-day operations for the Marines. This digital repository is a single source of truth, on a secure platform, for accurate and efficient collaboration and workflow/approval for digital designs. It is capable of easy integration with other military departments and coalition partner repositories and provides a “Digital Class IX Block” that supplements a physical Class IX Block. This provides Marines and sailors on Expeditionary Advanced Bases, on ship, at maintenance facilities/ depots, and in theater with echeloned 3D printing capabilities and digital reach back to USMC MARCORSYSCOM, OEMs, Naval Labs, and other services.
